COMMUNITY ADVISORY GROUPA Community Advisory Group (CAG) was formed to help guide the project, identify community needs, and provide input on different options. Feedback from the CAG helped ensure the study reflects local conditions and community priorities.
The project team met with the CAG four times at key points to share updates and gather input. CAG members were also encouraged to help spread the word about public meetings within their networks. Materials from all four CAG meetings are available on the Resources page. |
CAG Goals |
Four CAG meetings were held throughout the project. Primary meeting topics are outlined below:
CAG Meeting #1 |
CAG Meeting #2 |
CAG Meeting #3 |
CAG Meeting #4 |
The purpose of this meeting was to introduce the project, provide an overview of the PEL study and Phase I Preliminary Engineering process, review crash data, and gather feedback.
The second meeting developed the purpose and need problem statement, gathered feedback, and reviewed the agenda for the first public meeting.
In the third CAG meeting, the project team presented preliminary alternatives, gathered feedback, developed criteria for reviewing the different alternatives, discussed the first public meeting results, and outlined the agenda for the second public meeting.
The final CAG meeting allowed members to review the preferred alternative, discuss the public hearing, share final thoughts on alignment and outline implementation strategies.
CAG GUIDELINES |
CAG MEMBERSHIPIt was important that the CAG represented a cross-section of stakeholder types and groups within the corridor area. Membership includes organizations that represented large segments of the population and have a vested interest in the outcome of the project.
Grand Gateway CAG members include representatives from the following agencies: |
Public Information Meeting #1
Public Information Meeting #2
Public Hearing
The first public meeting was held to discuss the need for an underpass, crash data, safety concerns, and the project area.
The second public meeting was held to present the recommended project alternative.
The public hearing served as the final public meeting for the Phase I process. At this meeting, the preferred alternative was presented, and the project team met with potentially affected property owners. The hearing also provided a forum for residents to share their thoughts on the project.
